Soumya Gupta

Soumya Gupta is an accomplished journalist and editor with extensive experience in media, entertainment, and content. Currently serving as a Senior Editor at The Arc since August 2024, Gupta previously held a similar position at The Signal from 2023 to August 2024, where The Impression, a weekly newsletter focused on the Indian media landscape, was successfully launched and operated. Prior to that role, Gupta was a Reporter at The CapTable, leading coverage of media, entertainment, and e-commerce sectors in India, and served as a Brand Editor for Wholsum Foods, overseeing content strategy for its brand, Slurrp Farm. Previous positions include being a founding Reporter for ET Prime at Times Internet and reporting on retail and FMCG sectors for HT MINT. As a Senior Correspondent at Fortune India, Gupta focused on technology and startups. The professional journey began with a Summer Internship at Bloomberg LP and a role as a Research Assistant at Dartmouth College, contributing to research published by Cambridge University Press. Soumya Gupta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Dartmouth College and is an alumnus of Vasant Valley School.
