Janice Bigelow

Janice Bigelow CPA has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Janice is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for The Council for Professional Recognition. Prior to this, they held the role of Chief Financial Officer at American Humane from 2021 to 2022 and Vice President, Finance from 2020 to 2021. Janice also served as the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer at BBYO from 2015 to 2020. Before that, they held the position of Chief Financial & Administrative Officer at Communities In Schools from 2005 to 2015, where they established accountability and fiscal literacy across multiple locations. Janice has also worked as the Director of Finance at St. Coletta School of Greater Washington, Inc., Construction Specifications Institute, Inc., and Pew Center on Global Climate Change. Janice started their career at Kiplinger Washington Editors as a Tax Manager/Assistant Treasurer/Controller and later served as a Tax Manager/Audit Manager at BDO Seidman, LLP. Throughout their career, Janice has demonstrated financial leadership, implemented process improvements, and secured financing for various organizations.

Janice Bigelow CPA obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Lycoming College, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. Janice then pursued a one-week intensive program in innovative leadership in human service and civic nonprofits as a Civic Sector Leadership Fellow at the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business in 2009-2010. Prior to their college education, Janice attended Williamsport Area High School. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace from ESSEC Business School, although the exact duration of their studies at ESSEC is not specified.
