Arlo Fishman

Faculty: Hot Glass, Neon & Light at The Crucible

Arlo Fishman is an experienced artist and educator specializing in glassblowing, neon signage, and LED applications. Since 1977, Arlo has participated in notable exhibitions, including "California Contributions: 50 Years of Studio Glass" and "The Neon Show," showcasing work in prominent galleries across California. Currently, Arlo serves as faculty at The Crucible, teaching glassblowing and neon techniques, and as an artist at Aargon Neon, focusing on neon sign design and fabrication. Arlo also has a long-standing role with Lightwriters Neon, contributing to high-profile projects involving renowned artists such as Bruce Nauman and Jenny Holzer. In addition, Arlo volunteers at Burning Man and has held various technical and instructional roles in educational institutions like Anthony Chabot Elementary School and Penland School of Crafts, where Arlo taught workshops on traditional neon sign-making techniques. Arlo's educational background includes undergraduate coursework in sculpture and fine arts from Kent State University and Columbia College Chicago.
