Avani Kalra

Avani Kalra has a diverse range of work experience in journalism and communications. Avani has served as Editor in Chief, Reporter, Managing Editor, City Editor, Audience Engagement Editor, Assistant City Editor, and Assistant Audience Engagement Editor at The Daily Northwestern. Avani has also worked as an Access to Justice Communications Intern at Metro Tenants Organization, an Atlanta Journal Constitution News Intern at Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and a Health and Science Reporter at Medill News Service. Additionally, Avani has been a News Reporting Intern at Wisconsin State Journal, a Reporting Intern at Midstory, a Documenter at City Bureau, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Intern at New Moms, and an Interviews Editor at Another Chicago Magazine. Avani has also worked as a Student Election Judge at the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

Avani Kalra received their high school diploma from Francis W. Parker School in the years 2016 to 2020. Currently, they are enrolled at Northwestern University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. Avani'sexpected graduation year is 2025.
