Janey Young

Janey Young is a seasoned professional in cybersecurity and crime prevention, currently serving as Founder and Principal Consultant at Safe Digital Futures since May 2023, while also advising the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute on topics related to cybersecurity, terrorism, and the dark web. With an extensive background, Janey has held significant positions including Head of Global Investigations at Chainalysis Inc. and Head of the Dark Web at Europol's European Cybercrime Centre. Previous roles include Senior Manager at the National Crime Agency, where responsibilities encompassed investigations and prevention strategies, as well as earlier positions at the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the National Criminal Intelligence Service. Additionally, Janey contributes as a Faculty Member at the DCRO Institute, specializing in risk governance. Academic credentials include a BA (Hons) in Social Sciences and Forensic Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University.
