Ron Whitworth currently serves as the Chief Privacy Officer at Truist, a position held since September 2016. In addition, Ron is a member of the Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, having been appointed in May 2018. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Privacy Officer at SunTrust, Chief Privacy Officer and Associate General Counsel at EverBank, and as an attorney at Sullivan & Worcester LLP and Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth, PLC. Ron's career also includes a role as Special Assistant to Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein at the Federal Communications Commission and Editor in Chief at Inside Wisconsin Magazine/Badger Nation. Ron Whitworth holds a Juris Doctor degree in Communications Law from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
