This role reports to the Regional Director of Business Affairs
Compensation: $80,000 to $95,000
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Business Affairs Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business affairs function within the region for
various clients. This role involves negotiating and drafting contracts, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting various
departments to facilitate smooth production processes. The Business Affairs Specialist will work closely with internal teams and
external partners to protect the agency’s interests and those of its clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, including talent agreements, production supplier agreements, NDAs, and image licenses
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all business dealings
Support the clearance of video scripts with relevant regulatory bodies for domestic and international markets
Help secure and clear rights for third-party content used in client productions.
Coordinate with talent representatives to assist in facilitating talent agreements and solutions
Aid in vetting productions by ensuring insurance coverage, conducting risk assessments, and performing background checks on talent
Help prepare casting briefs for producers when working with casting directors and production companies
Collaborate with music agencies to secure composer agreements, obtain permissions from publishers, and manage licensed track usage
Support producers throughout the production process, providing assistance from pre-production to final delivery
Help implement and manage Digital Assets Management systems for post-production activities
Provide general administrative support to the business affairs team, including maintaining organized project documentation and files
REQUIREMENTS
6 to 10 years experience working with production contracts
Strong understanding of business affairs, legal compliance, and contract negotiation within the advertising and entertainment industries
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding and application of the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Code and other applicable union agreements
Proficiency in contract management and Digital Assets Management systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
