Chad Livengood

Chad Livengood is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in political reporting and editing. Currently serving as the Politics Editor at The Detroit News since May 2022, Livengood oversees political news coverage from Lansing and Washington, D.C. Previously, Livengood worked as a Senior Editor at Crain's Detroit Business, focusing on the intersection of business and public policy in Michigan from January 2017 to May 2022. Earlier roles include Capitol Reporter at The Detroit News, Political Reporter at The News Journal, and Capitol Reporter at Springfield News-Leader. Livengood's career began as an Education Reporter at Jackson Citizen Patriot and included internships at Saginaw News and The Daily Telegram.
