Mario J. M.

Mario J. M. currently serves as Editor in Chief and Managing Editor for The Black Explosion Newspaper, overseeing publication operations and providing editorial support while previously managing social media engagement. With experience as Data Editor and Data Reporter for The Diamondback and having held various roles in data journalism and reporting, Mario has a strong background in investigative reporting, particularly on campus news and LGBTQ+ issues, developed during tenure as a reporter for the University of Maryland's Black student newspaper. Educationally, Mario is pursuing a degree in Information Science and Journalism at the University of Maryland, following a diverse academic pathway that includes high school at Reservoir High School and studies at Howard Community College.
