Lee Ehmke possesses extensive experience in leadership roles within the zoological and conservation sectors. Currently serving as President and CEO of Houston Zoo since September 2015 and as a Board Member for The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund since October 2018, Ehmke has previously held the position of Director/CEO at Minnesota Zoo from 2000 to 2015 and served as Associate Director of Planning and Design at Wildlife Conservation Society from 1988 to 2000. Ehmke was also the Immediate Past President of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums from 2015 to February 2020. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, a Juris Doctor from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
