The Discovery
Katie Kukler is an experienced educator and coordinator with a background in museum and informal education settings. Currently serving as the Spark!Lab Smithsonian Coordinator at The Discovery - Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum since August 2021, Katie is responsible for writing programs and content, facilitating activities, and training staff. Previously, Katie worked as a Floor Supervisor in informal education at the same museum and held various roles at Patagonia, including a Trims Specialist, where textile organization and project leadership were key responsibilities. Earlier experience includes serving as a Server/Bartender at Great Basin Brewing Co. Katie holds a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Nevada, Reno.
The Discovery
Since opening to the public in 2011, The Discovery has solidified its place in our region as the home for informal science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) learning. Through hands-on galleries and exhibitions, and a robust array of educational programs, The Discovery connects learners of all ages with opportunities to explore a wide variety of ever-changing topics, all designed to inspire curiosity and further investigation.
