Usha Back

Usha Back has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Usha started their career as a Pre-registration Industrial Pharmacist at Abbott Laboratories in 1997, followed by a role as a Pre-registration Clinical Pharmacist at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 1998.

In 2002, Usha joined Capital Group | American Funds as an Investment Analyst, where they managed a US$100M fund and achieved outstanding performance for three consecutive years. Usha also earned a place in Capital's prestigious Associates Program, gaining experience in various areas of investment management.

In 2014, Usha co-founded a private investment group, where they collaborated on critical assessment of investment ideas, conducted sector research, and provided specialist knowledge in the global pharma and biotech sectors.

Usha went on to establish Findia Partners Ltd in 2016, a strategic consultancy focused on the pharma and fintech sectors. Through this consultancy, they delivered high-quality research to clients including The Disruption House and private high-net-worth individuals.

In 2017, Usha became an Honorary Lecturer at UCL, where they proposed and presented well-received lectures on Drug Commercialisation. Usha also developed industry connections, arranged industrial placements for students, and provided guidance to other students on the course.

In 2018, Usha took on the role of Main Trainer at Denny Ellison, where they provided training on effective research writing and building strong investment theses to buy-side and sell-side equity research analysts, as well as MBA students at leading universities in the UK and US.

Also in 2018, Usha joined The Disruption House as a Principal Consultant, leading research into FinTech market sectors for a pioneering ratings agency start-up. Their work involved delivering in-depth analysis, supporting early-stage companies and financial institutions, and driving adoption of innovative technology solutions.

Throughout their career, Usha has demonstrated expertise in the pharma and biotech sectors, conducted market analyses, and provided valuable insights to support investment decisions and identify market opportunities.

Usha Back has a strong educational background in the field of pharmacy. Usha began their academic journey at the University of London's School of Pharmacy, where they obtained their Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from 1994 to 1997. Following their undergraduate studies, Usha pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree specializing in Pharmaceutics and Drug Design at the same institution from 1998 to 2002.

In 2006, Usha Back furthered their education by attending the prestigious London Business School. Here, they completed the Corporate Finance and Investment Management Programme, although the specific field of study is not provided.

Aside from their academic achievements, Usha Back has also acquired additional certifications. In 1998, they obtained the MRPharmS certification from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, further validating their expertise in the field. More recently, in 2019, they received the Justice of the Peace certification from The Magistrates Association.
