Maria Harper-Marinick

Maria Harper-Marinick, Ph.D., serves as the Executive Director of The Dr. Ted Martinez Jr. NCCHC Leadership Fellows Program since January 2023 and is a Senior Fellow at the College Excellence Program of The Aspen Institute from March 2020. Previously, Maria Harper-Marinick held the position of Chancellor at Maricopa Community Colleges from October 1991 until retirement in May 2020. Additionally, in 2015-2016, Maria Harper-Marinick was an Aspen Institute Ascend Fellow, recognized for contributions to building political will and shaping policy for the welfare of children and families. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational/Instructional Technology from Arizona State University.

The Dr. Ted Martinez Jr. NCCHC Leadership Fellows Program

Established in 2003 as a Leadership program of the National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) to provide Community College Latino Administrators with high quality leadership development experiences and opportunities to continue their personal and professional growth. The Dr. Ted Martinez Jr. Leadership Fellows Program provides members with mentorship, best practices, networking and educational opportunities to prepare them for executive roles.
