Shimon Cohen

Shimon Cohen, MSW, LCSW, serves as the Founder and CEO of Doin' The Work LLC since March 2019, focusing on education, training, and consulting for justice-based liberatory practices. In addition to this role, Shimon is the Clinical Supervisor at the Healing & Justice Center with Dream Defenders, Board President for EduExito, Inc., and an Adjunct Lecturer at Columbia School of Social Work. Shimon hosts and produces the Doin' The Work: Frontline Stories of Social Change Podcast since March 2018. Previous academic roles include part-time and visiting instruction at the University of Kentucky and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, as well as various positions at Florida International University, where Shimon coordinated BSSW field education. Shimon’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Oregon.
