P.J. Alviso has a diverse work experience in the wine industry. P.J. started in 2007 as a Viticultural Intern at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Vit. Tech/Assistant Vineyard Manager at Duckhorn Wine Company, where they provided support for grower relations and estate vineyard operations. P.J. then moved up to the role of Viticulturist at Duckhorn, from 2010 to 2011, managing all viticultural activities on Estate ranches. From 2011 to 2014, they served as the Manager of Napa Valley Viticulture at Duckhorn, managing grape sourcing operations for the Napa brands and contributing to long-term strategy creation. In 2014, P.J. Alviso became the Managing Partner at Clockspring Vineyards, where they handled all aspects of management and planning for their family's 55-acre Organic vineyard. Finally, in 2017, they assumed the role of Director of Estate Viticulture at Duckhorn, responsible for the direction and management of all operations and viticulture across the DWC Vineyard Portfolio.

P.J. Alviso completed an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from Sonoma State University between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Wine and Viticulture with a focus on Viticulture and Enology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2003 to 2008. Their education began with a High School Diploma from Amador High School in 1999, where the field of study was not specified.
