Cherry Ainsworth

Cherry Ainsworth is a seasoned talent acquisition professional with extensive experience in leading recruitment strategies across various industries. Currently serving as the Global Head of Talent Acquisition at The Economist since August 2025, Ainsworth previously held the same title at Financial Times from March 2019 to August 2025, where the mission centered on delivering independent quality information globally. Prior roles include Head of Talent Acquisition and Employer Brand at Polecat - Incisive Intelligence, Talent Acquisition Manager at PatSnap, Interim Senior Talent Acquisition Lead at EssenceMediacom, and Recruitment Manager at 1000heads. Beginning a career in recruitment at Blue Skies, Ainsworth managed marketing and communications recruitment efforts while developing a strong foundation in the field. Ainsworth earned a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Southampton in 2010.
