Holly Cook has extensive work experience in the field of product management and journalism. Holly currently serves as the Head of Product at The Economist since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at BBC News from 2015 to 2021, where they held various roles including Product Lead - Web, Executive Product Manager, and Senior Product Manager. At BBC News, Holly was responsible for the vision, product strategy, and roadmap of the BBC News website, managing a team of product managers and overseeing cross-product workstreams.

Before their time at BBC News, Holly worked at Morningstar from 2009 to 2015, starting as an Editor of Morningstar.co.uk and progressing to the role of Editorial & Product Manager for the UK and EMEA sites. During their tenure, Holly led the growth of Morningstar.co.uk in terms of audience, revenue, and recognition as a top money site by the Times.

Prior to Morningstar, Holly worked at Thomson Reuters as a Senior Market Reporter from 2006 to 2008, covering the UK and European stock markets with a focus on M&A activity and the oil & gas sector. Holly also worked at Standard & Poor's as a European Markets Reporter for their newswire, European Marketscope, from 2004 to 2006, reporting real-time company news and market commentaries.

Holly's career began with work experience at Telegraph Media Group, Capital Radio, and The Times, where they gained valuable exposure to journalism and contributed to various sections and areas of reporting.

Holly Cook has a Master's Degree in Violence, Conflict & Development from SOAS University of London, which they obtained from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of East Anglia between 2000 and 2003. In addition, they have obtained certifications in E-commerce & Online Retailing from Econsultancy in 2015 and in Product Manager from Product Focus in 2014.
