Senior Vice President, Asia at The Economist

Vishal Dembla has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. In their most recent position, they served as the Senior Vice President for Asia at The Economist starting in October 2021. Prior to that, from 2017 onwards, Vishal worked as a Venture Investor, Advisor, and Consultant in the tech industry in the APAC region, focusing on companies such as CleverTap, Darwinbox, Seek Asia, Qritive, and Moonbug. Vishal also invested in and advised on sustainability-focused companies like Turtle Tree Labs and Coastruction.

Vishal also served as the Chief Commercial Officer at HOOQ from 2019 to 2020.

Earlier in their career, Vishal held various leadership positions at Warner Bros. Discovery, including Vice President & General Manager for Hong Kong and South East Asia and Executive Director for Business Development in the Asia Pacific region. Vishal also worked at Reliance Entertainment, Credit Suisse, K Sera Sera Productions Ltd, Life Media, and Eros International Ltd in different capacities.
