Chaka Booker is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and diversity and inclusion. Currently serving as Chief People Officer at The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation since July 2021, Chaka Booker focuses on implementing effective recruiting, training, and performance management practices while fostering an inclusive culture. Previously, Chaka Booker held various leadership roles at The Broad Center from 2004 to 2021, including Senior Executive for the Yale Transition Team, where a significant $100M gift facilitated the organization’s move to Yale School of Management. Additionally, Chaka Booker managed leadership programs and professional development initiatives, impacting a national network of educators and executives. Earlier career experiences include directing educational programs at STAR Education and founding A+ Tutoring. Chaka Booker earned an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics and Psychology from UCLA.
