Electrical Design Manager

As the Electrical Design Manager, you’ll be an important member of ESCO Groups’ Automation Business Unit leading a team that provides a variety of electrical design services focused primarily on control panel design. You’ll develop and implement strategies to grow our Electrical Design services and lead team members in the service line.

OBJECTIVES YOU WILL MEET

As the Electrical Design Manager, you will be responsible for the success and growth of the service line. Objectives include:

  • Financial success and efficacy of the service line.
  • Technical resource planning to maximize utilization and support business objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and train service line team members.
  • Develop and nurture strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

HOW YOU WILL MEET THOSE OBJECTIVES

  • Ensure successful project delivery within the service line. This will include developing and approving technical proposals and budgetary design work estimates and leading Electrical Designers and Design Service Leads.
  • Develop and monitor the service line operating plan and budget, including profit and loss accountability, to ensure financial success.
  • Establish and build healthy working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through mutual commitment and by operating with integrity. This will include internal project managers, the panel shop, vendors, and clients.
  • Responsible for Software License renewals (AutoCAD, Vault, ProductivityNOW, etc.).
  • Assist Design Services Leads with Design Environment Management (AutoCAD, Vault, etc.).
  • Provide and facilitate coaching and mentoring.
  • Support and encourage Electrical Design team members’ growth through Individual Development and Success Plans.
  • Execute performance evaluations and one-on-one sessions with Electrical Design team members.
  • Facilitate team meetings and participate in other company meetings as required.
  • Participate in the hiring process for future designers, design interns, and other team members.
  • Identify, implement, and ensure utilization of improvements and standards to increase both efficiency and quality of work from the Electrical Design group.
