Ashley Okwuosa

Ashley Okwuosa is an experienced journalist and educator currently serving as an instructor at Humber College since January 2024. Okwuosa has been a staff reporter for The Examination since July 2023 and was previously a newsletter writer for Toronto Star from June 2022 to July 2023. Okwuosa's background includes content writing at The Bishop Strachan School and serving as a research editor for Maternal Figures, which focuses on maternal health interventions in Nigeria. Okwuosa has also held roles as a diversity, equity, and inclusion reporter and assistant editor at TVO, and was a research scholar at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation. Okwuosa's early career included impactful reporting during a fellowship with The Teacher Project at Columbia University, and participation in The New York Times Student Institute, where Okwuosa reported on community issues in New York City. Okwuosa holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Rutgers University - Newark.
