Douglas Breunlin

Program Director Masters Of Science In Marital And Family Therapy at The Family Institute

Douglas Breunlin has extensive experience in the field of marriage and family therapy. Douglas began their career as the Director of Training at The Family Institute in Cardiff, Wales in 1975. Douglas then became the Director of Training at the Institute for Juvenile Research in 1978. In 1990, they took on various roles within The Family Institute at Northwestern University, including Director of the Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy Program. Since 2009, they have been the Program Director for the Masters of Science in Marital and Family Therapy at Northwestern University. Throughout their career, they have provided thought leadership, engaged in scholarly activities, and practiced couple and family therapy.

Douglas Breunlin completed their education chronologically with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Letters from the University of Notre Dame from 1965 to 1970. Douglas then pursued further education at Case Western Reserve University from 1973 to 1975, where they received a Master of Science in Social Administration with a focus on Clinical/Medical Social Work.
