Lark Walters has worked in the field of international development for over 10 years. Lark started their career as a case study writer for the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding, before moving to World Relief where they spent 3 years as the Resettlement Director. In this role, they helped resettle refugees in the United States. In 2014, they took a policy analyst role with the OECD - OCDE in their Investment Division, where they worked on CSR policy and outreach activities. The following year, they worked as a consultant with MasterCard, collecting and analyzing data on payment product needs in Africa, South America, and South Asia. In their current role as Decision Support Advisor at The Famine Early Warning Systems Network, they provide analysis and recommendations on humanitarian crises and risk mitigation strategies.
Lark Walters attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where they received a diploma in classical piano. They then went on to Salem College, where they earned a B.A. in international relations and German. After working for several years, they decided to return to school and earned a Master of Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. In addition to their formal education, Lark has also completed two Coursera courses, one in fundamentals of GIS and one in agriculture, economics, and nature.
