Lead Product Owner, Mobile Payment Applications at The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland

Adam Zakel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Adam started their career as an Application Developer at Distribution Data Incorporated in 2002 and worked there until 2004. Adam then joined May Department Stores as a Business Analyst from 2004 to 2005. After that, they joined Macy's and held various Business Analyst roles, including Business Systems Specialist, from 2005 to 2014. During their time at Macy's, Adam was actively involved in requirements gathering, system design, testing, and project management for large-scale enterprise solutions. Adam focused on Omni-Channel initiatives and played a key role in defining requirements for store Point-of-Sale (POS) and Mobile POS (mPOS) systems. Since 2014, Adam has been working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Adam started as a Senior Product Owner for Mobile Payment Applications and later became the Lead Product Owner in October 2021. In their role, they developed and defined requirements for new mobile solutions on behalf of Federal Agencies and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Additionally, Adam also served as a Senior Product Owner for Credit Card Services from November 2018 to March 2020.

Adam Zakel attended Miami University from 1998 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on Management Information Systems from the Farmer School of Business. Adam has also obtained several additional certifications, including "Mastering Meetings" from Interaction Associates in 2022, "MMBA: miniMBA" from Miami University in 2021, "Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner" from IBM in 2020, and "Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)" from Scrum Alliance in June 2016.
