Michael D. Siler

Michael D. Siler has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael D. started their career at SunTrust Bank in 1998, where they supervised the preparation and filing of financial reports and redesigned the process for preparing the Statement of Cash Flows.

In 1999, they joined SunTrust Robinson Humphrey as a VP and played a crucial role in the adoption of ASC 815 (Derivatives and Hedging). Michael D. planned, coordinated, and executed all phases of the project.

From 2002 to 2003, Siler worked at Mariner Health Care, Inc. as the Manager of Corporate Accounting. Michael D. directed all activities of the Corporate Accounting Department, including leading the month-end close process, SEC reporting, and GAAP compliance.

At MetLife, Siler held multiple roles from 2003 to 2014. Siler joined Bank of America in 2004, where they held two senior vice president positions. As SVP of Reserve for Credit Losses Reporting & Analytics, they managed credit risk and prepared SEC filing disclosures. Michael D. also served as SVP of SEC Reporting, Corporate Analysis & Reporting, leading the monthly financial close, P&L variance analysis, and management reporting.

From 2007 to 2009, Siler worked at TIAA-CREF as the Director of Alternative Investments. Michael D. led operations, accounting, and reporting for a $6 billion alternative investment portfolio.

In 2009, Siler became an independent consultant and worked with various financial services companies as a CPA.

In 2017, they joined the 13th Judicial Circuit as a Mentor for the Veterans Treatment Court. In this role, they assisted veterans enrolled in the alternative criminal court by personally connecting with them and helping them complete VA-supported treatment programs.

Finally, Siler founded the LinkedIn group "The Financial Executives Networking Group - CHARLOTTE Chapter" in 2009, providing networking opportunities for members of The FENG.
