Mike Caplan

Co-Founder at Fiction Tribe

Mike Caplan is the Co-Founder of Fiction Tribe. Mike has over 20 years of experience in the advertising and marketing industry.

Mike started their career at J. Walter Thompson in 2000 as an Account Supervisor. Mike was quickly promoted to Account Director in 2001. In 2002, they moved to The Stephenz Group as an Account Supervisor. In 2003, they joined Babcock & Jenkins as an Account Supervisor and was charged with growing the Microsoft portfolio. Within one year, they sold over 1.5 MM in direct work and won new accounts within Microsoft (TechEd Event).

In 2005, Mike joined CMD as an Account Director. Mike was brought in to help turn around the agency's tech interactive business and portfolio. Mike partnered with James Rice (Creative Director) to turn that unit from quarterly losses to quarterly profits within 90 days. Mike won several new accounts, including: Cisco, Red Hat, Dell and Wah Chang.

In 2007, Mike became a Partner and Managing Director at Ascentium in Portland. In 2011, they left Ascentium to start Fiction Tribe.

Mike Caplan earned a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA in marketing from Portland State University's School of Business. Mike also attended Choate Rosemary Hall.
