Alex Botsis

Alex Botsis is a Senior Associate Economist at the Financial Conduct Authority, specializing in the Economics Division since June 2022, after serving as an Associate Economist. Prior experience includes an Economist role at the Office of National Statistics on secondment, focusing on optimal aggregation of firm-level survey data and nowcasting, alongside a tenure as a Research Economist at the University of Nottingham. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Birmingham, where research included developing econometric techniques and a behavioral model of forecasting behavior. Additional roles spanned positions as a Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Davis, and research assistant roles at various academic institutions, contributing to significant projects in agricultural finance and macroeconomic modeling in Greece.
