Jamie Symington

Jamie Symington currently serves as Deputy Executive Counsel at the Financial Reporting Council, a position held since February 2020. Previously, Jamie was a Partner at Brown Rudnick LLP specializing in regulatory and white-collar crime law from May 2018 to February 2020. Jamie's extensive experience includes a tenure at the Financial Conduct Authority from January 2008 to April 2018, where significant roles included Director of Investigations, Head of Retail Enforcement, and Head of Wholesale Enforcement, focusing on market misconduct and driving compliance initiatives. Jamie began a legal career at the Financial Services Authority from April 1999 to December 2007 and served as a Legal Adviser at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from September 1994 to May 1999. Jamie holds degrees in Economics from The University of Edinburgh, Law from the University of Westminster, and completed Bar Finals at the Inns of Court School of Law.
