Senior Data Scientist - Team Leader at The Floow

Andrea De Santis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Starting in 2009, they worked as a Trainee at the Department of Mechanics and Aeronautics at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".

In 2011, they held the position of Plant Manager at Geosol Italia s.r.l. for a brief period.

From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Research Assistant in Nuclear Plants at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".

In 2013, they worked as an R&D Consultant at SRS Servizi di Ricerche & Sviluppo.

They then joined NRG in 2017 as a Research CFD Consultant, where they worked until 2018.

In 2018, they co-founded FactorAI and held the position of Co-Founder until 2021.

From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds.

More recently, in 2021, they joined The Floow as a Data Scientist and later became a Senior Data Scientist - Team Leader.

Andrea De Santis has a strong background in research, development, and consultancy across multiple industries.

Andrea De Santis has a strong educational background in engineering and computational fluid dynamics. They earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from The University of Sheffield between 2013 and 2017, specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Nuclear and Energy Engineering with first-class honors from Sapienza Università di Roma from 2008 to 2010, focusing on Nuclear Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Andrea has obtained several certifications to enhance their skillset. They completed the Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity in April 2022. In April 2019, they obtained the NVIDIA Fundamentals of Deep Learning for Computer Vision certification from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute. Prior to those, in February 2018, they acquired the PRINCE2 Foundation Project Management certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. These certifications showcase their commitment to continuous learning and expanding their expertise in relevant fields.
