Kimberly Abbott has a diverse and extensive work experience in communications, media, and journalism. Kimberly started their career as a Reporter/Anchor for WRGA AM, Q102-FM Radio, where they covered local and state politics, education, and the arts. Abbott then joined CNN, where they held various roles and responsibilities over a seven-year tenure, including on-air correspondent, live producer, editorial producer, segment producer, writer, booker, and researcher. During their time at CNN, they covered breaking news, presidential elections, and the aftermath of September 11.

Following their time at CNN, Abbott worked as the Communications Director for U.S. Congressman Martin Meehan (D-MA), serving as a spokesperson for the Congressman. Kimberly then joined InterAction, the largest alliance of U.S.-based international development and humanitarian NGOs, as the Communications & Media Director. In this role, they collaborated with national and international media to bring attention to under-reported humanitarian and development stories.

Abbott also served as the Communications Director, North America for the International Crisis Group, where they built the organization's media presence and established it as a trusted source for news and analysis on conflict situations. Kimberly later became the Vice President of Marketing & Communications at World Learning, a global NGO and academic institution focused on people-to-people diplomacy.

In 2007, Abbott co-founded and became a Media Trainer at Media Smart Global, a media training consultancy that specializes in coaching women to find their voices and own their research and messages. Additionally, they provided counsel on branding and marketing challenges.

Most recently, Abbott has been working as the Chief Communications Officer for Fuller Project for International Reporting. Kimberly Abbott completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and French at Boston University from 1990 to 1994. In 2015, they obtained a certification in Social Media Management from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.
