Niels Preenen

Niels Preenen is a Business Intelligence Consultant with extensive experience in various roles and industries. Niels started their career in 2012 with The Future Group, where they worked as a Freelance Senior Business Intelligence Consultant for clients such as Dunea, Rabobank, UWV, Zwitserleven, Vlietland Ziekenhuis, and Bedrijfschap Horeca en Catering. During this time, they gained expertise in Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Data Vault, and SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.

In 2014, Niels was hired by Capgemini to work at UWV as a Business Intelligence Consultant. Niels played a key role in integrating and designing the Data Vault environment using SQL Server 2012 for the Customer Intelligence analysts, data analysts, and researchers of the Handhaving and UWV Klant & Service departments.

Niels also worked at Valid as a Business Intelligence Consultant, specializing in Microsoft BI solutions. Prior to that, Niels worked at Dunea as a Business Intelligence Consultant, at Rabobank as a Business Intelligence Consultant, and at UWV as a Customer Intelligence Analyst. Additionally, they had short-term consultancy roles at Vlietland Ziekenhuis and Zwitserleven, where they gained experience in IBM Cognos and SAP Business Objects.

Throughout their career, Niels has demonstrated expertise in ETL, data modeling, package selection, proof of concept, migration, and project deployment. Niels is well-versed in various agile methodologies, and their technical skills include SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Data Vault, and SAP Business Objects.

Niels Preenen attended De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences from 1996 to 2000, although no degree or field of study was specified for this period. In addition to their formal education, Niels has obtained several certifications. Niels received a Microsoft Verified Certificate for Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI from edX in November 2019, as well as a Microsoft Verified Certificate for Introduction to Data Science from edX in October 2019.
