The Gathering Place
Theresa Miller is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community access and program coordination. Since November 2016, Theresa has served as the Community Access Team Manager at The Gathering Place, where prior to this role, Theresa held various positions including Assistant Director of Community Programs. With a background that includes working as the Children's Program and Volunteer Coordinator at Catholic Charities Father Ed Judy House from September 2005 to November 2016 and as a Substitute Preschool Teacher at Sewall Child Development Center, Theresa has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. Additionally, Theresa holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Creighton University, underscoring a solid foundation in social work principles and practices.
The Gathering Place
The Gathering Place (TGP) offers services to combat poverty and address the impacts of marginalization and oppression that are often contributing factors to poverty or homelessness. By offering low-barrier access to a broad range of basic necessities and wrap-around care options, TGP guides women, transgender folx and children living in poverty from a place of crisis and instability to one of stability and security. MISSION We are a community of safety and hope where positive relationships, choice, and essential resources transform lives. GUIDING PRINCIPLES We serve women, children, and transgender individuals who are experiencing poverty or homelessness. We believe in hope as an important change agent and hold that hope for everyone. We believe deeply in the power of community and continue working to develop it.
