Gian Luca Di Tanna

Head, Statistics Division at The George Institute for Global Health

A/Prof Gian Luca Di Tanna is the Head of the Statistics Division based in the Sydney office of The George Institute for Global Health. Leading a group of 10 BioStatisticians, he is responsible for the delivery, quality and integrity of statistical activities to support research programs conducted by The George Institute.

Gian Luca has a PhD in Health Economics, a MPhil/PhD in Medical Statistics and a MSc in Data Intelligence and Decision Analyses. He is an Accredited Statistician (AStat) of the Statistical Society of Australia and Chartered Statistician (CStat) of the Royal Statistical Society (UK).

He is the Chair-elect of the Statistical Methods in Health Economics and Outcomes Research Special Interest Group of the ISPOR - The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Statistical Editor of two Cochrane groups, the Breast Cancer and the Consumer and Communication Review Group.

Gian Luca holds an Associate Professor position at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.

Gian Luca joined the George Institute in 2019. He has twenty years of experience in applied statistics, clinical trials methods, statistical methods for economic evaluations and systematic reviews and meta analysis.
