Xian Li

Head of Statistics & Data Management at The George Institute for Global Health

Xian Li is Head of Biostatistics and Economic Evaluation and an Associate Research Fellow in The George Institute for Global Health at Peking University Health Science Center.

She graduated with a Bachelors degree from Public Health Sciences of Shanxi Medical University in 1996 and then got master degree on Biostatistics and Epidemiology in 1999.

She has been working in Epidemiology Department at Cardiovascular Institute, Fu Wai Hospital, (Beijing) and has been responsible for the design, analysis and data management of many medical studies before join the George Institute in 2012. During 2008-2010, she has been to Penn State University College of Medicine, USA, to exchange visitor as Post-Doctoral Fellow.

Her focus is statistical design and methods for outcome research in epidemiology and clinical research, in particular in cardiovascular disease research. Most of them are the national studies or large-scale studies. The studies she has been involved in as biostatistician or epidemiologic core staff has caused large effect on the developing of Chinese national guidelines in obesity, cardiovascular risk assessment and dyslipidemia management.

Over the last twelve years, she has been responsible for the design, statistical analysis and sometimes data management of numerous medical studies ranging from epidemiological studies and health surveys to clinical research.
