Kate Smyth Haskins serves as Chief Development Officer for the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

Smyth Haskins’ career has included fundraising, communications, and management roles at some of the world’s most prominent global research and policy organizations, including the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the Hudson Institute. She has also held leadership roles in the advocacy sector, at PhRMA and the Council for a Strong America. Before joining GMF, Smyth Haskins served as Senior Director of Development for Europe and the Gulf for Georgetown University.

Smyth Haskins received an M.A in Security Studies from Georgetown University, and also holds an M.A. in the History of International Relations and a B. An in History and Greek and Roman Civilizations from University College Dublin, Ireland. She is certified in human resource management by the Society for Human Resource Management and George Mason University.
