Margherita Barbieri

Margherita Barbieri serves as the Climate & Energy Standards Manager at the Global Reporting Initiative since September 2022, focusing on standards projects related to climate change. Margherita has been a member of the Advocacy Team at the Italian Climate Network since January 2021, contributing insights on climate and biodiversity negotiations. Previously, Margherita led the Circular Innovation initiative at Global Shapers Turin Hub and held several roles at Lavazza Group, including Global Brand Marketing Manager and Global Partnerships Specialist, where Margherita advanced sustainability efforts. Margherita's academic background includes a MA in Political Science from The University of British Columbia, complemented by multiple degrees and courses in sustainability and circular economy from prestigious institutions, including the University of Oxford and Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
