Melissa Stasiuk

Melissa Stasiuk is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience at The Globe and Mail, where Melissa has held various leadership positions since May 2006, culminating in the role of Head of Newsroom Development. In this capacity, Melissa oversees the alignment of newsroom skills, talent, and culture with the publication's strategic goals. Additional roles include Head of Programming and Audience, where Melissa manages a team to maximize the reach of stories, and Deputy Head of Programming, responsible for publication strategies to engage and grow The Globe's subscriber base. Melissa's earlier positions include Senior Social Media and Communities Editor and various editorial roles, showcasing a strong background in audience engagement and content dissemination. Prior to their media career, Melissa served as a Baby Sign Language instructor. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University and a Certificate in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies from George Brown College.
