Rikard Saqe is a research consultant at The Good Food Institute, focusing on the public health implications of alternative proteins since June 2024. As R&D lead for The Waterloo Alt. Protein Project, Rikard is conducting research to enhance the viability of alternative proteins with support from multiple organizations. Previously, Rikard was a TIME Fellow with the Time Initiative and a fellow in the Longevity Biotech Fellowship. Additional experience includes internships in data science and computational science at BioAge Labs and Recursion, respectively, as well as a backend development role at the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research. Early career roles involved marketing and consultancy positions in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sectors. Rikard Saqe holds a Bachelor's degree in Honours Computer Science with a minor in Biology from the University of Waterloo.
