Valerie Zaffos, LMHC, NCC, C.Ht, is a licensed mental health counselor with extensive experience in various therapeutic settings since 2013 at Self Empowerment Counseling PA. Valerie has advanced certification in couples counseling from The Gottman Institute and is a certified transgender care therapist with the International Transgender Certification Association, Inc. Previously, Valerie contributed to Counseling Today magazine and provided psychotherapy in an outpatient not-for-profit setting at Jewish Family Service of Broward. Valerie holds a Master of Science with Honors in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science with High Honors in Journalism from the University of Florida.
