The Great Basin Institute
As an ecologist with an emphasis on human ecology, Dr. Markee’s research has focused on the interactions between humans and the physical and biological environment. With an academic background in both the biological and social/behavioral sciences, Nancy is a strong proponent of research approaches that bridge and integrate across disciplines. As a result, the majority of her research efforts have centered on attempts to further the understanding and prediction of relationships between perceptions, attitudes and values and pro-environmental behaviors. Dr. Markee maintains an interest in the role of scientific information in the policy process. Nancy is a founding member and provides valuable council in the advisement of GBI students and alums.
