Brian McBay is an accomplished leader in the arts and culture sector with extensive experience as the Founder and Executive Director of 221A since April 2010. Currently serving as a Council Member at the BC Arts Council and a Board Member of both The Greater Vancouver International Film Festival Society and the Chinese Canadian Museum Society of British Columbia, McBay's influence spans multiple organizations. As a Fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar and a former Chair of the Arts and Culture Advisory for the City of Vancouver, McBay has made significant contributions to the arts community. Previous roles include serving as a Trustee at the National Gallery of Canada and as President of the Pacific Association of Artist Run Centres. McBay holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
