Monalicha Sarma

Monalicha Sarma, known as Mona, is an accomplished professional with a strong background in natural resource management, civil engineering, and classical dance. Currently a member of the 2025 Green Fellow Cohort at The Green Institute, Mona has prior experience at the Forest Stewardship Council focusing on climate and ecosystem services, and has completed a master's thesis at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) with a grade of Sehr Gut, where research concentrated on global drought preparedness under the guidance of a UNCCD International Working Group Co-Chair. Additionally, Mona interned at the UN Climate Change within the NDC, LT-LEDS and Sectorial Support unit, enhancing skills in international climate policy. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Natural Resources Management and Policy from the Technical University of Munich and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, complemented by a Masters Diploma in Bharatnatyam from Bhatkhande Music Institute.
