Amanda Gonyer, M.S., LMFT is a mental health therapist at Colibri Healing Therapy since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a mental health clinician at The Guidance Center, Long Beach starting in November 2020. In this role, they coordinated services and case management, discharge planning, and case consultation with various referral sources. From June 2019 to September 2020, Amanda was a mental health specialist II at STAR VIEW CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES INC, where they provided therapy, individual rehabilitation, and case management to clients, as well as collaborated with probation departments and other agencies. Additionally, they served as a behavioral specialist technician at the same company from October 2016 to June 2019, executing behavioral interventions with high-risk youth and collaborating with the client's care team and Unified School District. Amanda worked as a family and youth outreach program counselor at Boys & Girls Clubs of America from September 2017 to May 2019, providing individual and family therapy to children in underserved communities. Amanda also facilitated parenting classes in collaboration with Orange County Social Services. Before that, they were a student counselor at Humanidad Therapy & Education Services from December 2015 to June 2016, providing informal counseling to students. Amanda's work experience also includes roles as a special needs camp counselor at Sonoma State University from May 2014 to May 2016 and as a Saturday sidekick at Sonoma State University from August 2012 to November 2012, where they focused on increasing motor, social, and sensory skills with special needs clients.
Amanda Gonyer, M.S., LMFT obtained their Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from California State University-Dominguez Hills, from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Sonoma State University, from 2012 to 2016.

You can find members of our team out in the community meeting with children on school campuses within the Long Beach, Los Angeles, Paramount and Lynwood Unified School Districts, collaborating with staff on patient care plans at Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital, and counseling families at Century Villages at Cabrillo.
