Matthew Todd has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Matthew most recently worked at The HALO Trust as the Head of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning, as well as the Global Statistics and Data Manager. Prior to this, they served as the Country Director of Sri Lanka and Finance Manager at Arbeiter Samariter Bund. Matthew also worked as a Freelance IT and Development Consultant for four years and held positions at the United Nations, UN Office of Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, UNOPS, University of Colombo, VSO, University College Suffolk, and Framlingham College. Their roles included Mined Area Database Manager, Information Assistant, IMSMA/Database Manager, Lecturer in Computing, Volunteer Lecturer, Lecturer in Computing, and Technology Teacher.

Matthew Todd obtained an MSc degree in Computing for Commerce and Industry from The Open University, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, they attended the University of Birmingham from 1983 to 1986, although the specific degree and field of study are not provided. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in "Training of Trainers for the Humanitarian Sector (online)-Advanced" from RedR UK in June 2021.
