Kyle King

Co Principal at The Harbour School Hong Kong

Kyle King has a strong background in education and sustainability. Kyle is currently serving as the Co Principal at The Harbour School in Hong Kong since August 2021. Prior to that, they were the Head of High School at Green School from 2018. At Green School, they not only taught High School Mathematics but also developed and implemented a progressive math curriculum that incorporated climate change and renewable energy, using the Green School Bio Bus as a case study. Before joining Green School, they founded and served as the Executive Director of Bio Bus Social Enterprise in 2014. Under their leadership, Bio Bus transformed transportation in Bali by establishing the first biodiesel mass transit system in Indonesia that operated on used cooking oil collected by students. Through their work, Kyle has inspired local and global communities to live sustainably by utilizing waste products and reducing carbon footprint.

Kyle King earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology, General from Bates College in 1999. In 2001, they pursued graduate studies at Simmons University and obtained a Master's of Arts in Education with a focus on Mathematics. Additionally, in 2000, they completed coursework in Mathematics at Harvard University. During the year 1998, they participated in a semester study abroad program at the School for International Training, studying Biodiversity and Conservation. Kyle also holds certifications as a Certified Teacher in High School Mathematics from the California Department of Education and the Massachusetts Department of Education.
