Janai Smith

Janai Smith has a diverse work experience. Janai started their career as an Audit Supervisor at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts from February 2008 to June 2010. Following that, they worked as a Staff Accountant at Hotel ICON Houston from June 2010 to May 2014. Janai then joined The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in June 2014 and held multiple roles, including Director of Behavioral Health Budgets - Interim and Budget and Operations Manager. Lastly, they founded and managed a lifestyle blog called Jay Just Smilez from April 2015 to January 2023, where they created and published content across various social media platforms.

Janai Smith completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a concentration in African American Studies at the University of Houston from 2007 to 2011. From 2013 to 2015, they pursued a Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Certification at the same university. Finally, from 2019 to 2021, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Operations Management and Supervision from Capella University.
