The HBCU Foundation, Inc. is a federally recognized 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization, whose aim is to raise scholarship funding for deserving students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Their aim is to get them "To and Through"​ college.

The HBCU Foundation's board of directors is made up of experienced professionals in a variety of fields. The board has a strong commitment to education, with members having attended Bowie State University, computer science, and business. The president/CEO of the foundation, Dante Lee, has a long history of working in the education field, with experience as a co-founder of Lee Moss Media and president/CEO of Dante Lee International. The board also includes other experienced professionals in fields such as media and business. Together, the board brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the HBCU Foundation.
