Associate Program Director - Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano

Amro Alsaid, MD FACC, FASE, FSCMR has extensive experience in the field of cardiology and advanced multimodality cardiac imaging. Amro is currently serving as the Medical Director of the Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT Labs at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano and also works as a Cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiac imaging at Baylor Scott & White Health. Prior to these positions, Dr. Alsaid worked as the Medical Director of the Cardiac CT lab at Geisinger Medical Center and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Amro also served as a Cardiologist and Cardiology Fellow at Geisinger Health. Additionally, Dr. Alsaid has experience as an Echocardiography Fellow at Boston Medical Center and a Hospitalist and Instructor of Medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School. Amro began their medical career in 2010 as a Housestaff Physician and Faculty/Clinical Instructor at Michigan State University/Hurley Medical Center. Prior to their medical career, Dr. Alsaid worked as a First Aid Instructor and Emergency Response Team Member for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Amro Alsaid, MD FACC, FASE, FSCMR completed their education in a chronological manner. Amro began their educational journey by obtaining their M.B.B.Ch degree in Medicine from October 6 University from 2001 to 2008. Amro continued their studies and completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Michigan State University - Hurley Medical Center from 2010 to 2013, earning their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.

Following this, Alsaid pursued a Fellowship in Echocardiology at Boston Medical Center - West Roxbury VA Hospital from 2013 to 2014. Amro then specialized further in Cardiovascular Medicine and Advanced Cardiac Imaging, completing a fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center from 2014 to 2017.

Alsaid has also attained multiple additional certifications to expand their expertise. Amro obtained Diplomate certifications from the Certification Board of Cardiac CT (CBCCT) in December 2019, the Certification Board of Cardiac MRI (CBCMR) in August 2019, and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology in January 2018. Additionally, they received Diplomate certifications in Cardiovascular Disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine in September 2017, in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography from the NATIONAL BOARD OF ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY INC in December 2016, and in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in August 2014.
