Farzad Khalvati

Farzad Khalvati is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and engineering. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto, Khalvati has held various positions at The Hospital for Sick Children, including Scientist and Endowed Chair in Medical Imaging and Artificial Intelligence. Additional roles include Faculty Affiliate at the Vector Institute and previous affiliations with TECHNA Institute and Mount Sinai Hospital. Khalvati's earlier career includes a tenure as Sr. Scientist and Chief Technology Officer at Segasist Technologies, along with research positions at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Khalvati earned a PhD and MASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, following a BSc in the same field from the University of Tehran.
