Faisal Al-Nughaimish

Vice Chairman at TAQA

Mr. Al-Nughaimish joined TAQA as Vice-Chairman of the Board and Vice-Chairman of Executive Committee in November 2020. He currently serves as Head of Gas Drilling Engineering at Saudi Aramco, where he started his career more than 20 years ago.

In 2001, he joined Drilling & Workover (D&WO) as a Drilling Engineer, working on both oil and gas wells, and has since held various supervisory positions within Drilling & Workover, Reservoir Management, Production Engineering & Well Services and Offshore Production. He has been involved in numerous onshore and offshore development projects, including high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) gas wells, multilaterals, intelligent completions, and extended reach wells. He was appointed as Gas Drilling Engineering Department Manager in 2015.

Mr. Al-Nughaimish graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering (with Cum Laude Honors) from Arizona State University, USA, in 2001 and a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK, in 2005. He also completed the University Executive Program in 2017 from Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Mr. Al-Nughaimish also serves as a member of the Board of Managers at Aramco Rowan Drilling Company (ARO Drilling) and is the Chairman of the 2021 Middle East Oil & Gas Show. He is an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), Dhahran Geoscience Society (DGS) and the Saudi Counsel of Engineers (SCE).
